For many people, the dream of becoming a self-made millionaire is a fantasy which we glamorise from the age of being a young child. From studying at school to eventually landing our first job, we constantly strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
No matter where you are at in life, we all have a natural, human tendency to compare ourselves to one another. If it’s your clothes, your job, your income, or even your relationship with a significant other, adulting life often involves a lot of comparison to our immediate friendship circle and colleagues.
But what if I told you that you can become more successful by listening to podcasts? Whilst you might not have considered this before, podcasts specifically aimed at entrepreneurs are incredible tools you can use to shift your perspective and open your mind to new ways of thinking. We’ve put together the top five podcasts we recommend listening to which will help inspire you to be your best self.
1) The Mindset Mentor
If you’re new to listening to entrepreneurial podcasts, or even if you’re a pro, this podcast is for you! These podcasts are about twenty minutes long, which is the perfect amount of time to make yourself a cup of tea and relax.
Having amassed a following of over two million people on social media, Rob Dial encourages people on his podcast to live a life they enjoy and one that has purpose. From the importance of finding mentors to help you collapse time, tips on how to motivate you to become a better version of yourself, and the benefits of having the right people around you, Rob provides a juicy insight into how you can succeed quicker at a higher level.
Some of my favourite podcasts by Rob include ‘How to find mentors’ and ‘How to build a life you love’. Rob’s upbeat, positive outlook on how you can take proactive steps to improve your life on a daily basis are inspiring nuggets of advice for any aspiring entrepreneur or business person.

‘How I Built This’ by Guy Raz is an inspiring podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists with the stories behind how businesses were created. From the owner of Bumble, Burt’s Bees, Canva or even Patagonia, Rachel speaks to the insiders who are making movements and shifting perspectives with their global businesses.

4) HBR IdeaCast
The HBR IdeaCast by the Harvard Business Review is a weekly podcast which features the leading innovators in business and management. With podcasts which feature figures such as Bill Gates, Katina Sawyer and Shannon Huffman, these podcasts are informative and compelling, encouraging you to seek out your story and life’s purpose!
A personal favorite podcast of mine has to be: ‘Bill Gates on How Business Leaders Can Fight Climate Change’. From learning about ways to reduce carbon emissions to the purchasing power employers have, this podcast was really interesting in opening up the conversation around climate change and the need for us all to make significant changes if we are to have net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Podcasts are a great way to spread important information and help educate people on the pressing issues which we all face on a daily basis.

5) The Goal Digger Podcast
This podcast is a breath of fresh air. Hosted by Jenna Kutcher and released every Monday and Wednesday, this podcast covers a range of topics including productivity tips, business hacks and inspiring stories. Self described by Jenna as a “One stop shop for happy hour with a business gal”, Jenna’s podcast is relatable and funny, yet also informative.
Be sure to check out Jenna’s podcast ‘The Difference Between Financial Wholeness and Financial Freedom’ for a fresh outlook on managing your finances and innovative ways to look at money holistically. From referring to entrepreneurs as “walking contradictions” who are committed to growing and experimenting, and of course changing their ideas, Jenna highlights how we should all aspire to be students of life on a holistic journey to success. Rather than shaming and blaming people for their financial choices, Jenna instead focuses on how everyone can reach financial wholeness and make the right financial choices for them.
